Rohit Sharma Reveals The Inspiration Behind His T20 World Cup Dance Celebration
Rohit Sharma has shared the reason for his slow walk and Lionel Messi-inspired dance while collecting the T20 World Cup trophy in Barbados.
After India's triumph over South Africa, Rohit Sharma mimicked Lionel Messi's famous walk while receiving the trophy. He approached his teammates slowly and then celebrated with them.

Fans noticed similarities with Lionel Messi's celebration after Argentina's World Cup win in 2022. However, Rohit has now disclosed the real reason behind his unique celebration.
During a meeting with PM Narendra Modi, Rohit revealed that two teammates encouraged him to celebrate differently. He agreed to their suggestion.
"It was such a big moment for us. We had been waiting for this for so long. The players suggested just don't walk up to the stage in a usual way and attempt something different," Rohit said to PM Modi.
When Modi asked if Yuzvendra Chahal was involved, Rohit confirmed that Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were behind the idea.
"It was the idea of Chahal and Kuldeep (Yadav)," the India captain revealed.
PM Modi later asked Kuldeep how he convinced his captain to do such a celebration. Kuldeep humorously replied, "But he (Rohit) did not do it the way I told him to do," prompting laughter in the room.
The India captain also shared why he tasted the Barbados soil after their victory. "Where we achieve the victory, the pitch, that one moment I wanted to remember forever, so I tasted it," he said.
