Rohit Sharma Leaves Field Amid IND Vs IRE T20 World Cup Clash: Injury Update
India captain Rohit Sharma left the field during the run chase against Ireland in their first group stage match of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday, June 5.
It came as a massive shock to everyone as the India captain left the field after batting quite well. India bowled out Ireland for just 96 runs and made light work of the target.

Chasing just 97 runs, Rohit scored his 10th half-century of the T20 World Cup and steered India towards a victory but had to leave the field after sustaining an injury. Rohit hit four boundaries and three sixes but just after completing his half-century, the India captain left the pitch retired hurt.
After the 10th over, Rohit was seen departing from the ground with the physio. The India captain was in discomfort and was subsequently substituted by the next batter Suryakumar Yadav.
Although the cause is not clear, it looks like the issue for Rohit Sharma was caused after he was hit on the arm earlier in the innings. The pitch at Nassau County Stadium has faced a lot of criticism for its uneven nature, and it looks like Rohit Sharma was a victim of that.
Although the injury extent of Rohit is still unclear, we may get the latest status soon. India won the match comfortably by eight wickets as a returning Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 36 runs off just 26 balls.
