Navjyot Singh Sidhu reportedly commented on Star Sports that Sharma's selfless play was commendable. He suggested that Sharma could have played more conservatively but chose to prioritize the team's needs over personal milestones.

Perhaps Sharma could have given himself more time before attacking again, especially since he had already scored 10 runs off the first two deliveries.
