T20 World Cup 2024: Rohit Sharma Voices Support For Virat Kohli Before Final
India's captain, Rohit Sharma, addressed concerns about Virat Kohli's form following their semifinal win over England on Thursday.
India secured a spot in the T20 World Cup Final by defeating England with a 68-run victory in Guyana. They are set to face South Africa in the final on Saturday.

Virat Kohli's performance has been under scrutiny. He has only managed to score 75 runs across seven innings, averaging just over 10, which is unusual for him.
Kohli's struggles continued in the semifinal against England, where he was dismissed for just 9 runs. With Yashasvi Jaiswal waiting for an opportunity, there have been discussions about whether Kohli should bat at number three or be left out of the team. However, Rohit Sharma has put these debates to rest with his comments.
During the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma expressed his support for Kohli and remained optimistic about his form. "We understand his class. Form is never a problem when you've played for 15 years. Probably saving for the final," Rohit said with a smile.
When asked if he believes Kohli will perform well in the final, Rohit confidently replied that he 'absolutely' trusts Kohli to deliver.
Spin Duo's Impact
The India captain also praised spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, who each took three wickets in the match. Axar Patel made a significant impact by dismissing England's captain Jos Buttler, while Kuldeep Yadav took crucial wickets, including that of Harry Brook.
"Axar and Kuldeep are exceptional spinners. It's tough to play shots against them in these conditions. They were calm under pressure. We had a chat after the first innings; the message was to keep stumps in play. That's what they did," added Rohit Sharma.
A Decade-Long Wait
This will be India's first T20 World Cup final in ten years. After their disappointment in the 50-over World Cup, it remains to be seen how they will approach this crucial match.
The Indian team is hopeful that their star players will rise to the occasion and bring home the trophy after a decade-long wait.
