Rohan Jaitley Focuses On DDCA Elections After Mother Withdraws From BCCI Consideration
Rohan Jaitley, anticipated to become the next secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is expected to delay taking on this role. Instead, he appears focused on solidifying his position within the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA). This shift comes as Jay Shah transitions to his new role as chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Initially, Sangeeta Jaitley, wife of the late Arun Jaitley, entered the DDCA presidential race. Her candidacy was seen as a backup plan if her son Rohan moved to BCCI. However, she has since withdrawn, confirming Rohan's commitment to DDCA's upcoming elections from December 13 to 15.

The DDCA elections feature three groups, but the presidency is mainly contested between Rohan Jaitley and former cricketer Kirti Azad. Jaitley has some backing from the Tihara-Paweriya group despite internal disagreements. Vinod Tihara, running for Secretary, cautiously supports Jaitley.
"We were and are with him. But it seems he doesn't want us. So, we decided to not fight for the President's post and instead put candidates for other positions. But we will work with whoever becomes President - Jaitley or Azad," said Tihara to The Delhi Junction.
The DDCA election promises an intense contest between Jaitley and Azad. Meanwhile, BCCI is searching for Jay Shah's successor. Several names are being considered, but clarity is expected soon.
