Riyan Parag Reveals Indifference To T20 World Cup Following India Team Snub

As the T20 World Cup 2024 kicks off, India aims to make a significant impact. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the team is eager to secure a victory in the tournament.

India boasts a strong squad, and the entire nation is rallying behind them, hoping for a triumphant campaign. However, one Indian hopeful, Riyan Parag, prefers to distance himself from the World Cup excitement.

Riyan Parag was one of the standout players in IPL 2024. The Rajasthan Royals batter showcased his skills, amassing 573 runs in the season, making him the third-highest run-scorer. Despite his impressive performance, the 22-year-old from Assam was not included in India's World Cup squad or even among the reserves.

Although Riyan Parag remains optimistic about playing for India soon, he has stated that he does not intend to watch this T20 World Cup. He mentioned that he would have been concerned if he were playing, but since he is not, he will simply be happy for the winning team.

"It will be a biased answer (T20 WC top four prediction) but to be very honest I don't even want to watch the World Cup. I'll just see who is winning it at the end and I'll be happy. When I will play the World Cup, I will think about top four and all of that," Parag said during a chat with The Bharat Army.

When asked about his message to Team India, Parag wished them good luck. The 22-year-old has emerged as a top player this season and aims to maintain his form and consistency. With the Zimbabwe series scheduled after the T20 World Cup, Parag is expected to make his India debut in that series.
