Rishabh Pant Receives Advice To Overhaul PR Approach Following Baffling Tweet

Rishabh Pant has been advised by former first-class cricketer Shreevats Goswami to dismiss his PR team following a 'confusing' post ahead of Neeraj Chopra's javelin gold medal match at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday.

On Wednesday, August 7, a post from Rishabh Pant's X handle stated, "If Neeraj chopra win a gold medal tomorrow. I will pay 100089 Rupees to lucky winner who likes the tweet and comment most . And for the rest top 10 people trying to get the atttention will get flight tickets . Let's get support from india and outside the world for my brother."

Shreevats Goswami, who played 61 first-class matches before retiring last year, expressed shock at the nature of the post, especially when it came from the social media handle of a superstar India cricketer. He urged Pant to part ways with his PR team.

Rishabh Pant recently participated in India's white-ball tour. He had a slow start in the first T20I but managed to score 49 runs. In the second T20I, he remained unbeaten on two runs. He was rested for the first ODI.

Pant's return to ODI cricket was less than impressive. He replaced KL Rahul in the third ODI but was dismissed for six runs as India was bowled out for 138 while chasing a target of 249 runs. The decision to include Pant instead of Rahul faced criticism from many quarters.
