Rinku Singh Wins Best Fielder Of The Series In Thrilling India-Sri Lanka T20I

India concluded their T20 series against Sri Lanka with a thrilling Super Over win, securing a 3-0 series sweep. Suryakumar Yadav and his team excelled in Pallekele, maintaining Gautam Gambhir's perfect winning streak.

After the match, India's fielding coach T Dilip organised the traditional best fielder medal ceremony. He praised the players' grit and resilience, especially given the challenging conditions due to intermittent rain and uneven ground in Pallekele.

A video from BCCI captured the award ceremony post-match. T Dilip highlighted the fielding norms and contenders before handing over to assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate to announce the winner.

"I didn't select the award but I do know who it is. The fielding standard was very high. Fielding is the easiest way to show how much you care for the team by putting in a shift and everyone did it. The condition was very tough. The winner is the one who made a few mistakes in the second game. But he kept running harder, kept going for everything. The winner for this medal is Rinku Singh," Ten Doeschate announced.

Rinku Singh was thrilled to receive the award. Despite not performing well with the bat, he excelled in fielding and even bowled effectively in the penultimate over of the third match, taking two wickets.

The moment was special for Rinku as he received his award from Ryan ten Doeschate. The former Netherlands player had coached Rinku at Kolkata Knight Riders, significantly contributing to his fielding skills. Now part of Gautam Gambhir's coaching staff, it was a proud moment for both Rinku and Ten Doeschate representing India.

Dilip mentioned three contenders for the Best Fielder of the Series award: Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, and Ravi Bishnoi. Parag performed consistently well throughout the series while Bishnoi also contributed significantly on the field.

Rinku Singh had a shaky start but made a remarkable comeback in the final match. He took an incredible catch during the Super Over and held onto an important catch during regular play. Overall, India's ground fielding was excellent across all three matches.

The victory in Pallekele showcased India's dominance under Gambhir's leadership. The team's performance reflected their hard work and dedication despite challenging conditions.
