Richa Ghosh Shatters Records With Stellar Knock In Women's Asia Cup
Richa Ghosh delivered an outstanding performance, scoring an unbeaten 64 off 29 balls, propelling India Women to their first-ever 200-run total in Women's T20I cricket. Her explosive innings included 12 fours and a six, forming a crucial 75-run partnership off 45 balls with captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
The young cricketer from Siliguri, West Bengal, also set personal records during the Group A match against UAE Women in the Women's Asia Cup 2024 at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday, July 21.

At just 20 years and 297 days old, Richa Ghosh became the youngest Indian wicketkeeper-batter to score a T20I fifty. She surpassed Rishabh Pant's record, who had achieved his first T20I fifty at the age of 21 years and 206 days against West Indies in 2019.
Ghosh's remarkable knock also made her the first wicketkeeper-batter to score a fifty in Women's Asia Cup history. This was her maiden T20I fifty for India Women. Over her career of 52 T20I matches, she has accumulated 824 runs with an average of 28.41 and a strike rate of 138.48.
Her match-winning performance earned her the Player of the Match award as India triumphed over UAE by 78 runs, securing their spot in the semi-finals. The team is now aiming for their record-extending eighth Women's Asia Cup title.
Expressing her joy after receiving the award, Ghosh said, "Really happy. When I'm playing with Harry di, she guides me about how the ball is coming on. When the opportunity comes to me, I want to just deliver what I know and what I'm practicing. First four from the cover drive was the favourite moment. Yeah I'm feeling good (recovery from concussion)."
