RCB Overtakes PBKS In IPL 2024's Race For Most Sixes

In a thrilling display of power-hitting, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ascended to second place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for the most sixes hit by a team during their 60-run triumph over Punjab Kings (PBKS). This victory, which unfolded on Thursday, May 9, at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, dashed the playoff aspirations of PBKS.

Leading the charge for RCB, Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar each contributed six maximums to the scoreboard. Dinesh Karthik added another two, with Will Jacks and Cameron Green chipping in with one apiece. This collective effort propelled RCB's season tally to 130 sixes after posting a formidable 241/7 against PBKS.

Despite a valiant start by PBKS, with Rilee Rossouw knocking three sixes and Shashank Singh adding two more, alongside Jonny Bairstow and Ashutosh Sharma each hitting one, their efforts only took their season's total past 100 sixes. Ultimately, they could only muster a score of 181 in response.

Following their latest performance against PBKS, RCB has now surpassed the 1600-six milestone, joining Mumbai Indians in this elite category. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings inch closer to the 1500 mark.
