The leg-spinner continued his excellent form from Afghanistan's opening game win against Uganda. His performance saw him level with Bangladesh's Shakib for the most four-wicket hauls in T20 Internationals.

Rashid dismissed Kane Williamson, who was caught at slip by Gulbadin Naib, and bowled out Mark Chapman. He also trapped Michael Bracewell in front of the stumps and later took a return catch to dismiss Lockie Ferguson, completing his four-wicket haul.
