Rajasthan Royals Unveil Best Playing XI And Impact Player Following IPL 2025 Mega Auction

The Rajasthan Royals have retained six players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. They entered the auction with a purse of Rs. 41 crores, the smallest among all ten teams. Despite this, they successfully assembled a squad of 20 players for the upcoming season by acquiring 14 new players in addition to their retained ones. Post-auction, they have Rs. 30 lakhs left and two overseas slots unfilled.

The IPL 2025 mega auction took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. It featured an intense bidding process with 577 players available and resulted in 182 players being sold for a total of Rs. 639.15 crores. Eight right-to-match cards were used during this event. The auction surpassed expectations with top cricketers like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer fetching record prices.

Before the auction, Rajasthan Royals focused on retaining their batting core, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer. Their strategy at the auction was to enhance their bowling attack by signing several star bowlers and all-rounders such as Tushar Deshpande, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Kwena Maphaka. Nitish Rana's addition is expected to bolster their batting depth.

Most of Rajasthan Royals' significant acquisitions aimed at boosting their bowling strength. Jofra Archer emerged as their priciest purchase at Rs. 12.5 crores. Tushar Deshpande followed closely behind as another key buy. The Sri Lankan pair Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana secured the third and fourth spots in terms of costliness. Nitish Rana was another strategic acquisition for Rs. 4.2 crores. Additionally, RR acquired Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a promising 13-year-old Indian talent, for Rs. 1.1 crores after intense competition from other teams.
