Will Rain Disrupt The Crucial IPL Match Between SRH And GT In Hyderabad?
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) face Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 66 of the IPL 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday, May 16. The match holds significant importance for SRH, who need a win to secure their place in the playoffs. For GT, the match is inconsequential as they are already out of the playoffs race.
Even if the match is abandoned due to rain, SRH will qualify for the playoffs. In such a scenario, points will be shared, allowing SRH to reach 15 points and finish ahead of Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). SRH's final league match is against Punjab Kings. For GT, this match marks their last appearance in the league stage.

Hyderabad experienced heavy rain showers on Thursday afternoon, leading to the ground staff covering the entire field at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Videos of water-logging in various parts of the city have surfaced online.

Recently, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Gujarat Titans (GT) match was abandoned due to rain without a toss taking place in Ahmedabad. Earlier, a match between KKR and Mumbai Indians (MI) experienced a delayed start in Kolkata and was reduced to a 16-over per side game due to rain interruptions.
