IPL 2025: Rahul Dravid Poised For Return To Rajasthan Royals As Head Coach
Rahul Dravid, the former head coach of India's T20 World Cup-winning team, is reportedly nearing a new role. Speculation suggests he might return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) soon.
The Times of India reported on July 23 that Dravid is close to rejoining Rajasthan Royals. He previously played and mentored for the team. Talks between Dravid and Rajasthan Royals are ongoing, with an announcement expected soon.

"Talks are going on between RR and Dravid, and an announcement in this regard is round the corner," TOI quoted a reliable source as saying to them in the report.
Dravid has had significant roles in various teams. He served as a mentor for Rajasthan Royals from 2014 to 2015 and Delhi Capitals in 2016. His coaching career includes leading India's U-19 and A teams before becoming the senior men's team head coach in 2019.
If Dravid joins Rajasthan Royals as head coach, Kumar Sangakkara may continue solely as Director of Cricket. This move would mark Dravid's return to the franchise after nine years.
Impact on Young Talent
During his tenure with India's U-19 and A teams, Dravid played a crucial role in developing young talent. Players like Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, and Washington Sundar benefited from his guidance.
After ending his stint with the Indian cricket team in June, Dravid was linked with several IPL teams. Reports suggested Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders were potential destinations.
The 51-year-old had a distinguished playing career spanning 16 years. His experience and mentorship have been invaluable to many young cricketers.
An official announcement regarding Dravid's new role with Rajasthan Royals is anticipated soon. Fans eagerly await confirmation of his return to the IPL scene.
