DPL 2024: Purani Dilli Players Inspired By Icons Rishabh Pant And Ishant Sharma

Despite an early setback in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), Purani Dilli 6's batter Lalit Yadav remains hopeful about the team's future. The team is drawing motivation from seasoned players Ishant Sharma and Rishabh Pant, who offered valuable advice and encouragement after their initial defeat.

The DPL's first edition began on Saturday at New Delhi's Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium. In their opening match, Purani Dilli 6, captained by Rishabh Pant, faced South Delhi Superstarz but unfortunately lost.

Following the loss, Pant and Sharma took the chance to boost the team's morale by sharing their experiences and guidance with the younger players. "After the last game, we as a team re-looked on what went wrong, we just re-looked as a team and I feel, we are all set for tomorrow game. Each and every member had a great conversation with Rishabh and Ishant (bhaiya), it is dream come true for many players to share the dressing room with them," Lalit Yadav told Purani Dilli 6.

"After the match, we had chat with Rishabh and Ishant bhaiya, and they shared their experience like how they used to play during their young days," he added.

Purani Dilli 6 will next compete against East Delhi Riders on Tuesday. Their third match is scheduled for Wednesday against West Delhi Lions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Lalit Yadav, who has participated in 82 T20 matches, highlighted the importance of the DPL for new talent. "We are really motivated as the DPL provides a great opportunity for all of us. The atmosphere in our team is very positive," he added.
