Phil Salt Smashes A 100-Metre Six Against Andre Russell In T20 World Cup Victory

England opener Phil Salt showcased his batting prowess as England secured a comprehensive win over West Indies in the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024.

After narrowly advancing from the group stages, this victory was crucial for the defending T20 Champions. The co-hosts West Indies entered the tournament with four victories but began their Super 8 journey on a disappointing note.

Phil Salt's Stunning Six in T20 World Cup

Chasing 181, Phil Salt led a brilliant English run chase. The 27-year-old scored an unbeaten 87 runs off just 47 balls, guiding his team to victory with two and a half overs to spare.

Salt's innings included seven fours and five massive sixes, one of which came off Andre Russell's bowling. Both players had a successful season with Kolkata Knight Riders, lifting the IPL title this year. Salt, familiar with Russell's deliveries from practice sessions, picked a slower ball and launched it into the night sky.

The ball soared high and far, clearing the fence with ease as it travelled 100 metres. Salt's exceptional batting performance has been a significant boost for the defending champions.
