Pat Cummins Determined For SRH's Strong Comeback In IPL 2024 Qualifier 2

SRH captain Pat Cummins expressed his disappointment following his team's eight-wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 qualifier 1. In the post-match interaction, Cummins acknowledged the team's subpar performance.

He stated, "Yeah, we will try to put this behind quickly, the good thing is we will have a crack at it (second qualifier). You have those days in T20 cricket where things don't quite work out. We weren't where we wanted with the bat and obviously couldn't do much with the ball."

Despite the defeat, Cummins remained optimistic about the team's chances in Qualifier 2, which will be held at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium. He emphasized the importance of moving on from the loss and focusing on the upcoming match, saying, "Felt that extra batting was important (picking the impact sub) on this wicket."

"Thought KKR bowled really well, there was a little bit in it early on and the surface got better. We all have played enough cricket, and going to a new venue (Chennai) helps us as well, so we gotta keep this behind and move on," he added.

Cummins highlighted the team's resilience and determination to bounce back in the second qualifier. With the change in venue to Chennai, he believes it presents an opportunity for SRH to turn the tables and secure a spot in the summit clash. Cummins expressed his confidence in the team's ability to adapt to the new conditions and put up a strong performance.
