Pakistan U19 Dominates Japan U19 With 180-Run Victory In Asia Cup 2024 Group A Match

In a commanding display, Pakistan U19 secured a 180-run victory over Japan U19 in the ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup 2024 Group A match. The game took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on December 4. This win ensured Pakistan's unbeaten run and top position in the group, advancing them to the semifinals.

Pakistan chose to bat first and set a challenging target of 244 runs. Shahzaib Khan laid a strong foundation with his 45-run contribution, while Faham-ul-Haq added 34 runs to maintain momentum. Muhammad Riazullah played a crucial role, remaining not out with 66 runs, guiding Pakistan to 243/6 in their allotted overs.

Pakistan U19 Thrashes Japan U19 by 180 Runs

Japan's chase faltered from the start as Pakistan's bowlers dominated. Mohammad Hufaiz was exceptional, taking five wickets for just eight runs. His spell dismantled Japan's batting order, leaving them struggling at 56/8. Mohammad Ahmad also contributed significantly by taking two wickets for nine runs.

Nihar Parmar was Japan's standout performer with the ball, claiming two wickets for 18 runs in his ten overs. Kai Wall supported him by taking one wicket for 32 runs. Despite their efforts, they couldn't contain Pakistan's middle-order strength and resilience.

Japan U19 struggled to gain any momentum during their innings. Nihar Parmar showed some resistance with a score of 25 but found little support from teammates. Japan was bowled out for just 63 runs in 28.3 overs, falling well short of the target set by Pakistan.

The disciplined bowling attack from Pakistan ensured regular breakthroughs, making Japan's chase seem like a formality. The pressure applied by Pakistani bowlers resulted in consistent wicket-taking throughout the innings.

Semi-Final Prospects

This victory solidified Pakistan U19's position as Group A leaders. They are set to face Bangladesh U19 in the semifinals on December 6 in Dubai. With this dominant performance boosting their confidence, they look forward to continuing their winning streak.
