Pakistan's T20 World Cup Qualification Hangs By A Thread After Recent Defeats
Pakistan finds itself in a precarious position in the T20 World Cup 2024. The team faces potential elimination from the group stages.
Babar Azam's squad lost their first two matches. They were defeated by the USA in a Super Over and subsequently lost to India.

Although Pakistan remains in contention, their qualification depends on the outcome of the USA vs Ireland match. Additionally, adverse weather conditions in Florida, including potential floods and incessant rain, have further jeopardised their chances. Any washout would result in Pakistan's elimination from the tournament.
Former India pacer Sreesanth has already dismissed Pakistan's chances, predicting that the USA will join India in the Super Eight stages.
"I don't think Pakistan is following the needed routine. They don't focus on their domestic leagues. All of their legends, like Wasim Akram and even Waqar Younis, say they need to change the entire system. So that says where they are going wrong. I will only say this to Pakistan all the best for the next World Cup. If they come back from this position, it will be a miracle. I don't think it will be easy," Sreesanth was quoted as saying to ANI.
The USA has been impressive in this tournament. They secured victories against Canada and Pakistan and put up a strong fight against India. Players like Saurabh Netravalkar and Nitish Kumar have made significant contributions, showcasing the game's growth in the country.
Sreesanth praised the co-hosts, acknowledging their hard work and strategic planning over the past two years.
"One of the things about T20 World Cup is every team looks strong on paper. If we talk about planning and execution, the USA team prevailed because of their planning and execution in the past two years and they have worked hard. I want the USA team to play in the Top 8 because they deserve it. They have done more than enough justice to be a part of the Top 8," Sreesanth added.
