Pakistan's Bowlers Haris Rauf And Abbas Afridi Restrict Australia To 147 In Second T20I Match
In a thrilling T20I match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Pakistan's bowlers, led by Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi, restricted Australia to 147 runs. Their disciplined performance was crucial in the second game of the series on Saturday.
The Australian openers, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short, began aggressively, reaching 52 runs in just 3.4 overs. Fraser-McGurk hit 20 off nine balls before Haris Rauf dismissed him in the fourth over, providing a vital breakthrough for Pakistan.

Rauf struck again in the same over, removing Australian captain Josh Inglis for a duck. Abbas Afridi soon joined in by bowling out Matthew Short for 32 off 17 balls, reducing Australia to 56-3 during the powerplay.
Matthew Short's quick innings included four boundaries and two sixes. His dismissal marked a turning point as Glenn Maxwell (21) and Marcus Stoinis (14) tried to stabilise with a cautious 30-run stand.
Sufiyan Muqeem, making his debut, dismissed both Maxwell and Stoinis quickly, ensuring Pakistan kept control. Haris Rauf further dismantled Australia's batting lineup with figures of 4-22, taking key wickets of Tim David and Xavier Bartlett in the death overs.
Rauf's exceptional spell not only restricted Australia but also made him Pakistan's joint-highest wicket-taker in T20Is alongside Shadab Khan with 125 wickets. Abbas Afridi impressed with figures of 3-17, dismissing Aaron Hardie (28) and Spencer Johnson consecutively in the final over.
Despite missing a hat-trick opportunity, Afridi's efforts ensured Australia couldn't capitalise on their strong start. After the powerplay, Australia's innings lost momentum; their next 50 runs took 61 deliveries compared to just 19 for the first.
Strategic Moves by Captain Rizwan
Pakistan's disciplined bowling effort included two wickets from Muqeem and held Australia to a below-par total of 147. Captain Mohammad Rizwan's strategic use of bowlers, especially introducing Rauf at crucial moments, turned the match after a challenging start.
Only Aaron Hardie showed some resistance lower down Australia's order. However, Pakistan's bowlers maintained pressure throughout to secure an impressive performance against the hosts.
