Omkar Salvi Appointed As RCB Bowling Coach Ahead Of IPL 2025 Season To Enhance Team's Performance

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have introduced Omkar Salvi as their new bowling coach for the men's team, preparing for the IPL 2025 season. Salvi, currently leading Mumbai's cricket team, will join RCB after completing his domestic duties in March 2025.

The 46-year-old coach has had a remarkable year with Mumbai, winning the Ranji Trophy for the first time in eight years and clinching the Irani Cup during the 2023-24 season. His appointment has generated enthusiasm among RCB supporters, with the franchise confirming the news on social media: "Omkar, who has won the Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, and the IPL in the last 8 months, is excited to join us in time for #IPL2025."

Salvi is well-acquainted with the IPL environment. He previously worked as an assistant bowling coach for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he gained recognition for developing fast-bowling talent. His extensive knowledge of Indian domestic cricket further enhances his reputation as a top-tier coach. Mo Bobat, RCB's Director of Cricket, expressed his confidence: "With his vast experience, technical expertise, and leadership, Omkar Salvi is the perfect fit for our coaching team. In addition to his recent successes, Salvi's playing career included representing Railways in one List A match. Although his playing exposure was limited, his coaching journey has been marked by consistent achievements and thorough preparation.

Salvi will reunite with Dinesh Karthik at RCB. Karthik has recently been appointed as batting coach and mentor. The duo previously collaborated at KKR. The franchise hopes their partnership will be instrumental in helping RCB secure their first IPL title.
