Nitish Reddy Impresses With Upper Cut Six Against Pat Cummins In BGT Opener
In a remarkable debut during the first Test at Perth in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, Nitish Reddy made an unforgettable mark. He hit a stunning upper-cut six against his IPL captain, Pat Cummins, leaving fans and experts amazed.
India found themselves struggling at 128/8. Facing the final ball of the 48th over, debutant Nitish Reddy understood the need to counter-attack to keep India's hopes alive.

Pat Cummins, the Australian captain, bowled a short delivery aimed near Reddy's right shoulder. Unfazed by this challenging ball, Nitish displayed impressive reflexes.
The way he arched his back and executed a perfect upper cut for six was exceptional. The red ball flew over the slip cordon and narrowly missed Marnus Labuschagne at a fine third-man position.
Despite Labuschagne's valiant effort, the ball had enough height to clear the boundary for a maximum. Nitish top-scored for India with a resilient 41 off 59 balls, featuring six boundaries and that iconic upper-cut six.

The 21-year-old's courageous innings ended just nine runs short of a debut fifty. His innings concluded when he attempted a pull shot off Cummins but got a thick top-edge over midwicket.
Usman Khawaja, who had earlier dropped an easy catch from Nitish Kumar Reddy, sprinted back and judged the ball perfectly to complete a difficult catch on the move. Batting first, India was bowled out for 150 at Optus Stadium in Perth.
On the flip side, Australia faced trouble after losing their top-order batsmen cheaply. Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah led the attack by dismissing Nathan McSweeney (10), Usman Khawaja (8), and Steve Smith (0). Debutant Harshit Rana took Travis Head's wicket (11), while Mohammed Siraj dismissed Mitchell Marsh (6). At this point in time, Australia's score stands at 38/5 after 17 overs.
