New Zealand And Afghanistan Gear Up For T20 World Cup 2024 Clash In Guyana
New Zealand begin their Group C campaign against Afghanistan in match 14 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, Guyana on Friday (June 7).
Kane Williamson-led New Zealand aim to avoid any surprises as they enter the tournament without any warm-up matches. Rashid Khan's Afghanistan, however, are buoyed by a 125-run victory over Uganda in their group stage opener.

Afghanistan will seek a win to boost their chances of securing one of the two spots for the Super 8s from Group C, which also includes West Indies, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea.
This is New Zealand's ninth appearance in the T20 World Cup. The Kiwis have yet to win the title, with their best finish being runners-up in 2021. Afghanistan is participating in their seventh edition, with their best performance coming in 2016 when they reached the Super 10s.
The two sides will clash for only the second time in T20 format and for the first time at the Guyana venue. Below is a look at their head-to-head numbers:
