Namibia Captain Suggests India For Warm-Up Matches Before South Africa Series

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus has responded to the announcement of India's upcoming tour of South Africa for a four-match T20I series in November. Tagging the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Erasmus suggested that India should consider playing warm-up matches in Windhoek before the series.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) and BCCI announced the schedule on Friday, June 21. The series will commence at Kingsmead Stadium on Friday, November 8, and conclude with the fourth T20I at Wanderers on November 15. The second and third T20Is are scheduled for November 10 at St George's Park and November 13 at SuperSport Park, respectively.

"Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are delighted to confirm the scheduling of yet another thrilling KFC T20 International (T20I) series, which will see India traveling to South Africa in November 2024. Tickets go on sale on 19 August," CSA stated in their post.

Gerhard Erasmus, who recently led Namibia in the T20 World Cup 2024, reacted to the post by writing, "Hey @BCCI, warm-up in Windhoek?"

Namibia's Performance

Namibia was placed in Group B alongside Australia, England, Scotland, and Oman during the T20 World Cup 2024. They won their first match against Oman but lost the remaining three matches in the group.

India vs Namibia History

India and Namibia have played just one T20I match against each other to date. They met at the T20 World Cup 2021, where India defeated Namibia by nine wickets.

India's Upcoming Tours

After the T20 World Cup 2024, India will tour Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka before hosting Bangladesh in September. New Zealand will travel to India for a three-Test series in October-November. Additionally, India is scheduled to tour Australia for a five-Test series starting November 22.
