Mushfiqur Rahim Ruled Out Of Bangladesh Squad For Upcoming West Indies Test Series
Mushfiqur Rahim, a seasoned player, will not participate in Bangladesh's upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies. The series is set to start on November 22 in Antigua. Rahim suffered a fracture on his left index finger during the first ODI against Afghanistan in Sharjah, which has kept him out of the ongoing three-match ODI series.
Medical evaluations indicate that Rahim's recovery could take four to six weeks. This timeline excludes him from the Test matches against the West Indies and might also affect his participation in the subsequent ODI series in the Caribbean. The first Test will be held in Antigua, with the second concluding in Jamaica a few weeks later.

Despite Mushfiqur's absence, Najmul Hossain Shanto remains captain for the Test series against the West Indies. There were reports of Shanto considering stepping down from captaincy, but he continues to lead. Mehidy Hasan Miraz will assist as vice-captain during this series.
The Bangladesh team management has yet to announce a replacement for Mushfiqur in the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan. Mushfiqur, who retired from T20I cricket, plans to join the team for the ODI matches in the West Indies if his recovery allows.
Bangladesh's squad for this tour closely resembles the one that faced South Africa recently. Notably absent is Shakib Al Hasan, who retired from Tests and T20Is in September. The team will play three ODIs and three T20Is following the Test series.
The Bangladesh Test squad includes Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Shadman Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Mominul Haque Showrab, Mahidul Islam Ankon, Litton Das (wicketkeeper), Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (vice captain), Taijul Islam, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, and Hasan Murad.
West Indies vs Bangladesh Test Schedule 2024

- 2nd Test - November 30 to December 4, Jamaica
The Bangladesh team faces significant challenges with key players missing due to injuries and retirements. However, they aim to perform well against the West Indies with their current squad composition. The upcoming matches will test their depth and adaptability as they navigate these changes.
