Mumbai Welcomes T20 World Cup Champions With Grand Parade

The Mumbai Police have arranged extensive security measures for the fans planning to attend the T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team's parade in Mumbai on Thursday evening. The team will participate in an open bus road show followed by a felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium after arriving from New Delhi.

On the Indian Cricket Team's Vijay Yatra scheduled in Mumbai tomorrow, Mumbai Police DCP Zone 1 Pravin Munde says, "... Indian cricket team is reaching Mumbai tomorrow after winning the T20 World Cup.

T20 Champions Celebrated in Mumbai

"A victory procession in an open bus is being held from 5-7 pm on Marine Drive between Nariman Point and Wankhede Stadium. If you want to attend the procession, kindly reach before 4:30 pm and assemble on the promenade side and not on the road.

The victory procession will take place between 5 PM and 7 PM from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium, followed by a felicitation ceremony inside the iconic venue. A large number of cricket fans are expected to gather to watch the procession, prompting police to take utmost precautions to avoid any untoward incidents.

Adequate police personnel will be deployed along Marine Drive between Nariman Point and Wankhede Stadium. The police have advised fans who wish to witness the parade and felicitation ceremony to arrive on time. "A victory lap is being held in Wankhede Stadium at 7 pm. If you wish to attend that, please ensure you reach and be seated in the stadium before 6 pm... Kindly try to use public transport to avoid traffic congestion..."

Earlier, it was revealed that the Indian team is expected to reach New Delhi on Thursday morning (6:20 am) after departing from Barbados' Grantley Adams International Airport on a chartered flight with a special call sign - AIC24WC - Air India Champions 24 World Cup.

Team's Journey Back Home

The departure of the Indian squad was delayed due to Hurricane Beryl. However, as the hurricane subsided, Team India could jet out of Barbados along with Indian media personnel. "The team has left from Barbados on a special Air India flight hired by the BCCI. The Indian journalists who were stuck there are also coming on the same flight along with BCCI president and secretary, who are looking after all the arrangements," BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla told PTI.

"The flight will land at Delhi airport tomorrow at 6 am. The team will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 am at his residence. After this, the team will fly to Mumbai, where a ceremony has been organised," he added.

Celebrations Await in Mumbai

"There will be a road show from Nariman Point in an open bus and later we will honour and felicitate the players with prize money of Rs 125 crore as announced," Shukla mentioned. Fans are encouraged to use public transport for convenience and to avoid traffic congestion during these events.

The victorious team's arrival in Mumbai marks a significant celebration for cricket enthusiasts across India. With elaborate security measures in place, fans can look forward to witnessing their heroes up close during this grand event.
