IPL 2024: MS Dhoni's Six Revives Intense Memories For Yash Dayal's Father
In a gripping match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), RCB's young bowler Yash Dayal emerged as the hero in the final over. The match reached a nail-biting climax when CSK's captain MS Dhoni hit a massive six off the first ball of the over.
Yash Dayal's father, Chandrapall, recalled the tense moment, saying, "Woh darawana sapna firse aa raha tha jab Dhoni ne pehli ball pe sixer mara (That terrifying dream of last season started to haunt me when Dhoni hit that 110-m six off the first ball)." Last season, Yash was hit for five sixes in the last over by KKR batter Rinku Singh.

Despite the initial setback, Chandrapall remained confident in his son's abilities. "But deep inside, I knew something good will happen this time. It's all the result of his hard work, full credit to him. The God has been kind," he added, acknowledging Yash's dedication.
Yash Dayal's performance in the final over, where he defended 17 runs against Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, secured RCB's victory and propelled them to the playoffs as the last qualifying team. Amidst the celebrations, Yash made a video call to his mother, Radha, asking, "Kaisa feel kar rahi ho (how are you feeling mom?)", bringing joy to his family.
Reflecting on his calm demeanor during the high-pressure situation, Yash commented, "I was confident of pulling it off after the first-ball six and was calm and composed." His achievement has brought immense pride to the Dayal household, with phones ringing incessantly with congratulatory messages.
Chandrapal, a former cricketer himself who retired from the Accountant General's office in Allahabad in 2019, expressed his joy and pride in his son's success. The Dayal family acknowledges that it's indeed "God's plan, baby," as summed up by Rinku Singh on his Instagram page.
