MS Dhoni Reveals His Preference For Instagram Over Twitter And Its Impact

Chennai Super Kings stalwart MS Dhoni has shared his candid thoughts on social media, particularly expressing his dislike for the platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Unlike many Indian cricketers and sportspersons, Dhoni is not an avid social media user. Although he has accounts on X and Instagram, he rarely updates his followers about his life.

Dhoni Prefers Instagram Over Twitter

In a recent interview, Dhoni discussed his minimal social media presence. Speaking with Dubai 103.8, the CSK leader admitted that he prefers Instagram over Twitter. He explained that Twitter in India often sparks controversy, which is why he avoids the platform.

"I prefer Instagram over Twitter. I believe that nothing good has happened over Twitter. Especially in India, there is always a controversy. Someone will write something and turn it into a controversy. Why do I need to be there? You know it used to be 140 characters. You cannot elaborate. Imagine me putting something over there, and then it is left up to the people to read it and interpret whatever they want to interpret," Dhoni said in the podcast for Dubai 103.8 YouTube channel.

"So, I am like no-no that is not for me. Instagram, I still like it because I could put up a picture or a video and just leave it. That is also changing now. I still prefer Instagram, but not active on it because I feel fewer distractions are better. But in-between, on and off, I would put something for the fans so that they know this is where I am. Somewhere good, in good hands, doing what I like," he added.

Fans and the wider audience can learn from MS Dhoni's perspective on social media use. In the life of a sportsperson, controversy should not be a regular occurrence. However, in India, controversies often arise from seemingly trivial matters.

Anything posted on social media can be interpreted in various ways, leading to reactions from opinionated individuals who may follow without verifying or judging the content themselves. This can amplify simple matters into significant controversies.

The character limit on Twitter without a subscription can also constrain messages, leading to misunderstandings. Dhoni addressed this issue by stating that he does not want to be near any controversy.

Therefore, netizens, media personnel, and others should take note of Dhoni's interview and verify any breakout news or potential controversial developments before reacting.
