MS Dhoni Unveils New Hairstyle, Fans Ecstatic As India Qualifies For T20 World Cup Final
MS Dhoni's new hairstyle has taken the internet by storm. The former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain revealed his fresh look on Friday, June 28, just a day after India secured a spot in the T20 World Cup 2024 final.
Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared photos of Dhoni's new hairstyle on Instagram, causing a frenzy among fans. One fan commented, "Man is aging in reverse. Thala for a reason," while another wrote, "Mahi bhai ab under 19 khelne ka plan hai kya."
Dhoni's latest hairstyle features his vintage long hair cut short at the back but remaining long and wavy in the front. In the picture, he is seen wearing a black t-shirt that complements his stylish new look.
The 42-year-old cricketer had previously brought back his iconic long-hair look ahead of IPL 2024. This was reminiscent of his early cricket career when he debuted for India in December 2005 and won the inaugural T20 World Cup with the same hairstyle.
For over a decade, Dhoni stuck to short and slick hairstyles before reverting to his vintage look. Fans speculated that this change might be linked to his retirement plans with IPL 2024.
However, Dhoni, who will turn 43 in July, has not officially announced his retirement yet. The possibility of him playing in IPL 2025 remains open.
CSK CEO's Statement
"As all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides," CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said in May.
"But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. That is the view and expectations of the fans and mine," he added.
Dhoni's new look continues to captivate fans as they eagerly await any updates on his future plans in cricket.
