The Knights won the toss and chose to bowl, restricting the Tigers to 144/7 in their 20 overs. Montreal's top order collapsed early, leaving them at 29/5 by the sixth over. Dillpreet Bajwa (33 off 22 balls) and Azmatullah Omerzai (27 off 30) then attempted a recovery.

Bajwa and Omerzai shared a crucial 58-run partnership over seven overs. Corbin Bosch's unbeaten knock of 35 off 25 balls helped Montreal reach a respectable total.

In reply, Vancouver faced trouble from the start with skipper Usman Khawaja trapped leg before by Omarzai in the first over. The Knights struggled at 73/5 in the 15th over due to Montreal's dominant bowling.

Dwaine Pretorius (31 off 20) and Dipendra Singh Airee (30 not out off 15) put together a spirited fightback, adding 60 runs off 30 deliveries. However, Kaleem Sana dismissed Pretorius with two balls remaining, sealing the win for Montreal.

Later in the afternoon, Marcus Stoinis' all-round brilliance and Sunil Narine's magic helped Surrey Jaguars secure an emphatic 80-run victory over Toronto Nationals. Stoinis made an immediate impact with an aggressive 37-ball 57, featuring three fours and four sixes, propelling the Jaguars to a healthy total of 161 for 6 after being asked to bat.

Kyle Mayers (27 off 23 balls) gave Surrey a flying start before Toronto pulled back with quick wickets, reducing them to 75 for 4. Stoinis then partnered with Virandeep Singh (23 not out off 20) for a crucial fifth-wicket stand of 57 runs.

During Toronto's chase, Unmukt Chand began aggressively with a quickfire 17-ball 21 after Colin Munro was hit during the first innings. Chand added 30 runs for the opening wicket with Nicholas Kirton (11). However, Narine's introduction triggered a collapse that restricted Toronto to just 81 runs.

Narine claimed impressive figures of 3/5 while Stoinis led from the front with three wickets as well. This win helped Surrey climb to third place on the leaderboard while Toronto dropped to second with four points from three matches.

The victory propelled Montreal to the top spot in the standings with four points from two wins. Meanwhile, Vancouver languished at fifth place after losing all three matches played so far.
