Mohammed Shami Reveals Team India Bonds And Counters Pakistan Legend's Claim
India's fast bowler Mohammed Shami has shared insights about his close friendships within the Indian cricket team.
Shami, who has been sidelined due to an ankle injury since the 2023 World Cup, recently discussed various topics in a podcast with YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra. During the conversation, he spoke about his relationships with teammates.

"Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma are my best friends. They are the ones who call me and check on me when I am injured and in recovery," Shami said on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel.
Shami posted an update about his recovery on social media. In a video on Instagram, he is seen cautiously bowling a few deliveries during training. Despite recovering from his ankle injury, he is not yet bowling at full intensity.
Earlier this year, Shami underwent surgery to repair his injured ankle. His recovery took longer than expected, causing him to miss IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup. Despite playing through injury in the 2023 World Cup, Shami was the tournament's highest wicket-taker. He claimed 24 wickets in seven matches at an average of 10.70.
In the podcast, Shami also addressed former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq's comments on Arshdeep Singh accusing him of ball tampering. The pacer dismissed these allegations and promised to demonstrate reverse swing techniques during the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
"If I visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, I will take those three balls along with me and will show them that there were no devices in them. I will cut the balls into two pieces in front of 20 people. They can search for the devices then. I will also show them how reverse swing is achieved. These words are ludicrous and have no base. There are 40 cameras these days and any tampering gets caught," he added.
Shami's dedication to his recovery is evident as he continues to train cautiously while sharing updates with fans through social media platforms like Instagram.
The Indian pacer's commitment to returning stronger showcases his determination despite setbacks from injuries and surgeries.
His strong bonds with teammates like Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma highlight the camaraderie within the Indian cricket team, providing support during challenging times.
Shami's response to ball-tampering accusations reflects his confidence in his skills and readiness to prove critics wrong by demonstrating legitimate techniques on an international stage.
The fast bowler remains focused on regaining full fitness and contributing significantly to future tournaments for India.
As Shami continues his recovery journey, fans eagerly await his return to full form, hoping to see him back in action soon.
The support from fellow cricketers and fans alike underscores the importance of unity within sports teams during periods of adversity.
Mohammed Shami's resilience serves as an inspiration for many aspiring cricketers facing similar challenges in their careers.
