Mehidy Hasan Miraz Named Captain As Bangladesh Announces ODI Squad For West Indies Series
Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been appointed as the interim captain for Bangladesh's One Day International team. This announcement comes as Bangladesh reveals their 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies, which begins on Sunday, December 8.
Mehidy, who is already leading the Test team, will now also take charge of the ODI side. Regular captain Najmul Hossain Shanto is still recovering from a groin injury. This series marks Mehidy's debut as an ODI captain.

The squad sees the return of left-handed all-rounder Afif Hossain Dhrubo after a year-long absence. Fast bowler Nahid Rana retains his place following an impressive debut against Afghanistan earlier this year.
The pace attack will feature Nahid Rana alongside Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib. Rishad Hossain and Nasum Ahmed are included as specialist spinners in the squad.
For wicketkeeping duties, Litton Kumer Das, Jaker Ali, and Parvez Hossain Emon are available options. The rest of the batting line-up includes Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Soumya Sarkar, and Md Mahmudullah.
Zakir Hasan has been dropped due to poor performances against Afghanistan. Towhid Hridoy was not considered for selection because of ongoing groin issues, as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board's medical team.
Following the second Test match, Bangladesh will face West Indies in three ODIs. This series marks the start of their white-ball matches. After these ODIs, three T20Is will follow. Below is a detailed look at the squad and schedule:
