Maharaja Trophy T20 2024: Dates, Teams, Venue, And Live Stream Details

The Maharaja Trophy T20 is set to return for its third edition, featuring six teams competing for the title. Organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), this tournament has gained significant traction over its previous two editions.

On June 21, the KSCA announced the return of the tournament during a launch event in Bengaluru. Key figures present included Raghuram Bhat, President of KSCA, BK Sampath Kumar, Commissioner of Maharaja Trophy and Vice-President of KSCA, Joint Secretary Shavir Tarapore, and Indian cricketing legend E.A.S Prasanna. Franchise representatives also attended the event.

Recognized as one of India's premier domestic T20 leagues, the Maharaja Trophy will showcase Karnataka's top players. Notable names include Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, Manish Pandey, Vyshakh Vijaykumar, Krishnappa Gowtham, and Vidwath Kaverappa.

The Shriram Capital Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 will continue with its franchise-based model for the 2024 season. This format aims to build strong team identities and nurture local talent. The defending champions Hubli Tigers and last year's runners-up Mysore Warriors will compete alongside Gulbarga Mystics, Bengaluru Blasters, Mangaluru Dragons, and Shivamogga Lions.

The 2024 edition of the Maharaja Trophy T20 will commence on August 15, coinciding with Indian Independence Day. The tournament will conclude with the final match on September 1. The detailed schedule will be released closer to the start date.

Venue

All matches for the third edition will be held at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This venue has hosted numerous memorable cricketing events and continues to be a favourite among fans.

Player Retention and Auction

Franchises will have the opportunity to retain players from their previous squads to ensure continuity. Following the retention process, a player auction will take place featuring over 700 cricketers vying for spots on various teams.

Broadcasting Details

The Star Sports Network will broadcast the matches on Star Sports 2 and Star Sports 1 Kannada channels. Fancode will provide live streaming of all games. Commentary will be available in both English and Kannada.
