Lanka Premier League 2024 Playoffs: Qualified Teams And Complete Schedule

The fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 has reached its crucial phase as one team exits and four teams advance to the playoffs after the league phase concluded on Tuesday, July 16.

The tournament featured five teams competing in a double round-robin format. The top four teams at the end of this stage secured their spots in the playoffs, which will involve four additional matches among these top teams.

The LPL 2024 playoffs are scheduled from Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21. All matches will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The schedule is as follows:

• July 18, Thursday: Qualifier 1 - Galle Mavericks vs Jaffna Kings - 3 PM IST
• July 18, Thursday: Eliminator - Colombo Strikers vs Kandy Falcons - 7:30 PM IST
• July 20, Saturday: Qualifier 1 Loser vs Eliminator Winner - 7:30 PM IST
• July 21, Sunday: Final - Qualifier 1 Winner vs Qualifier 2 Winner - 7:30 PM IST

Qualified Teams for LPL Playoffs

The teams that have made it to the knockout stages are Galle Marvels, Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, and Kandy Falcons. While Marvels, Kings, and Strikers secured their spots early on, Falcons' place was confirmed after Dambula Sixers failed to surpass them in their final league match.

LPL Playoff Format Explained

In the playoffs, the top two teams will face off in Qualifier 1. The winner of this match will directly advance to the final. The loser will get another chance by playing against the winner of the Eliminator match between the third and fourth-placed teams in Qualifier 2.

Lanka Premier League Match Timings

The LPL matches will commence with Qualifier 1 at 3 PM IST on Thursday, July 18. This will be followed by the Eliminator at 7:30 PM IST on the same day. Matches on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 will start at 7:30 PM IST.

The LPL playoff matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports 3 channel in India. Additionally, live streaming will be available on Fancode app and website with a subscription pass starting at Rs.25 per match or Rs.69 for all four games.
