Lanka Premier League 2024 To Showcase Global And Local Cricket Talents
The fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is set to commence on July 1. This three-week T20 event will feature both international and Sri Lankan cricket stars, taking place at three renowned venues.
Among the international players participating are New Zealand's Glenn Phillips and Mark Chapman, Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, Pakistan's Shadab Khan and Agha Salman, West Indies' Andre Fletcher and Fabian Allen, Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, and Noor Ahmad, and South Africa's Rilee Rossouw and Reeza Hendricks.

The LPL 2024 will also showcase prominent Sri Lankan cricketers such as Wanindu Hasaranga, Angelo Mathews, Isuru Udana, Maheesh Theekshana, and Kusal Mendis. These national team heavyweights will be joined by other notable local talents.

League Stage Details
The league stage will run from July 1 to 16. During this period, five teams – Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, Galle Marvels, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy – will compete against each other twice.
Matches will be held at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

The playoffs will commence on July 18 at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. The grand finale is scheduled for July 21 at the same venue.
This year's LPL promises thrilling matches with a mix of seasoned international players and emerging local talents. Fans can look forward to an exciting display of cricketing skills over three weeks.
