Lanka Premier League 2024: Star Sports To Offer Exclusive Broadcast In India

Star Sports will broadcast the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 live from Sri Lanka between July 1 and 21. Indian viewers can enjoy exclusive coverage of the cricket matches through Star Sports.

The LPL has been instrumental in nurturing talented Sri Lankan cricketers since its start, says Anil Mohan Sankhdhar, Founder and CEO of IPG Group, the official rights holder of LPL. He commended Star Sports for their dedication to enhancing the league and providing top-notch content to fans.

The fifth season of LPL will feature 24 matches over 21 days, with doubleheaders on most days and single matches on three days. Day games will begin at 3 PM IST, while night games are set for 7:30 PM IST. Samantha Dodewala, Tournament Director of Lanka Premier League, believes that partnering with Star Sports will help broaden the tournament's reach and aid its growth.

This season will see international players like Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Agha Salman, Andre Fletcher, Fabian Allen, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Noor Ahmad, Rilee Rossouw, and Reeza Hendricks. Local stars such as Wanindu Hasaranga, Angelo Mathews, Isuru Udana, Maheesh Theekshana, and Kusal Mendis will also be part of the league.

Venues and Playoffs

LPL matches will take place across three venues: Colombo, Dambulla, and Kandy. Five teams—Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, Galle Marvels, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy—will compete. The league stage runs from July 1 to 16; playoffs start in Colombo on July 18; finals are scheduled for July 21.
