Kuldeep Yadav Reflects On The Distinct Pressures Of IPL And T20 World Cup
Kuldeep Yadav has emerged as a key player for India, delivering impressive figures of 3/19 in his recent match against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup. The cricketer asserts that the pressure of playing in a World Cup is significantly higher than that of the IPL, making the experiences incomparable.
Despite being benched during the group stage in the USA, Kuldeep has made a notable impact on the spin-friendly tracks in the Caribbean. When questioned about whether playing in small spin-friendly stadiums like Chinnaswamy and Feroz Shah Kotla helped him prepare for West Indies pitches, Kuldeep was unequivocal in his response.

"IPL is totally different, boss. I'll let you know - that it's totally different. What you experience in IPL is not what you are experiencing in T20 World Cup," Kuldeep stated. He added that while playing at Feroz Shah Kotla, India's smallest ground, can be advantageous for spinners, it's not just about pitch dimensions.
"But at the same time, for any spinners around the globe, the length matters a lot. And especially in this format, you have to read what the batter are trying to do, but more aggressive, the approach should be like very - very aggressive. So that is actually helping me during IPL and it's actually helping me in T20 World Cup," he explained.
The chinaman bowler did not start for India in the group stages and only got his first exposure to the T20 World Cup in the Super Eights. So far, he has picked up five wickets in two matches and is expected to be included in the lineup for the final Super 8 match against Australia as well.
