KL Rahul Cleared To Play In Border-Gavaskar Trophy Opener After Injury Scare
KL Rahul has been cleared to play in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy opener in Perth. The Indian team's physio confirmed his availability for the match starting on Friday, November 22. This comes as a relief after Rahul's recent injury scare.
Rahul was injured last week during an intra-squad match at the WACA stadium. A delivery from Prasidh Krishna struck his right elbow, forcing him to leave the field after scoring 29 runs. Despite initial attempts to continue, he couldn't bat further that day.

On Sunday, November 17, Rahul returned to training, providing a morale boost for India. Shubman Gill is likely to miss the Perth Test due to a thumb injury. Rahul's return is timely for the team as they prepare for the upcoming challenge.
During a nearly three-hour training session, Rahul practised in the nets and participated in match simulations. He showed no signs of discomfort but wasn't as fluent as before his injury while opening with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The BCCI shared an update on social media about Rahul's fitness status. Team India's physio confirmed that despite being hit on his elbow, Rahul is "ready to go" for the Perth Test against Australia.
BCCI physio Kamlesh Jain stated, "The key for us is to make sure there is no fracture or bony lesions in there. 48 hours since the impact and he's responded well to treatments. He should be ready to go."
Yogesh Parmar, another physio with Team India, added confidence by saying, "I took him for the X-ray and scan and based upon the reporting, I was confident that he should be fine. It was just a matter of controlling the pain and giving him some confidence. So, from a medical point of view, he is absolutely fine."
Team Strategy Amidst Injuries
With these reassurances from medical staff, it seems likely that Rahul will open alongside Jaiswal in Perth due to Rohit Sharma's absence. His readiness brings much-needed stability to India's batting lineup amidst other injuries.
The Indian team continues preparations at WACA ground with squad players practising on centre wickets and nets. As they gear up for their first Test against Australia, having Rahul fit is crucial given Gill's probable unavailability.
