SRH's decision to bat first backfired as they were reduced to 21/3 in 4.2 overs. KKR bowlers continued their assault, leaving the 2016 champions struggling at 90/8 in 14.1 overs.

Shahbaz Ahmed became Varun Chakravarthy's 21st wicket of IPL 2024 before Rana struck again to remove Henrich Klaasen (16). Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat put up a brief resistance with a 23-run partnership off 22 balls for the ninth wicket.

Narine ended the stand by trapping Unadkat (4) in front of the stumps. Russell then dismissed Cummins (24), finishing with figures of 3/19 in 2.3 overs as SRH were bowled out for 113 in 18.3 overs.

Shreyas Iyer-led KKR are aiming for their third IPL trophy. They last won in 2014 and secured their maiden title against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai in 2012. SRH, on the other hand, clinched their first and only IPL trophy in 2016.
