IPL 2024: KKR Surpasses MI In Brand Value, Full Team Valuations Revealed
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have significantly boosted their brand value following an impressive IPL 2024 campaign, surpassing the Mumbai Indians, who experienced a disappointing season.
A survey by Houlihan Lokey, a global investment bank specialising in financial valuation, reveals that the IPL's overall brand value has also seen a notable increase.

According to the report, the IPL's business value has risen by 6.5%, now standing at USD 16.4 billion, equivalent to Rs 135,000 crores. The brand value of the IPL has also increased to USD 3.4 billion, approximately Rs 28,000 crores.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lead both brand and business value rankings among the teams. CSK is known for its consistency, having qualified for the playoffs in 12 out of 15 seasons and winning five titles. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain, has played a crucial role in their success.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) rank second in brand and business value, with a brand worth of USD 227 million. RCB is renowned for its passionate fan base and is a beloved IPL franchise. Virat Kohli, one of the finest batsmen of this era, has significantly boosted RCB's popularity. Their journey from 10th place to playoff qualification made them the most watched and discussed franchise this year.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), winners of the TATA IPL 2024, are now third in brand value with USD 216 million. KKR leverages the fame of its owner, Shahrukh Khan, along with standout players like Shreyas Iyer, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Rinku Singh.
Mumbai Indians (MI) rank fourth with a brand value of USD 204 million. With Hardik Pandya returning as captain, MI remains a prominent and evolving IPL team, paving a path to player trades.
Among all the IPL teams, Delhi Capitals is the only franchise whose brand value has decreased from last year. Compared to last year, it has dropped by around 1.5 per cent for the Capitals.
