KKR Outshines SRH To Book IPL 2024 Final Appearance With Stellar Performance
The Kolkata Knight Riders have secured their place in the IPL 2024 Final with a decisive victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday, May 21.
The Qualifier 1 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium saw the Knight Riders dominate, earning their spot in the Final for the fourth time with an 8-wicket win over the Orange Army.

Kolkata Knight Riders lost the toss, and SRH captain Pat Cummins opted to bat first. However, SRH had a poor start, losing their openers early. Travis Head was dismissed for a duck on the second ball, and Abhishek Sharma followed soon after, scoring just 3 runs.
Mitchell Starc delivered a fiery spell, taking three wickets within the powerplay. SRH struggled at 45 for 4 at the end of six overs. Starc's performance under fielding restrictions significantly weakened SRH's batting lineup.
Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen formed a crucial partnership, adding 62 runs in just 37 balls for the fifth wicket. However, Klaasen's dismissal allowed KKR to regain control. Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets, reducing SRH to 126 for 9. Captain Pat Cummins and Vijaykanth Viyaskanth added 33 runs, bringing SRH to a total of 159 before being bowled out in 19.3 overs.
During the run chase, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine provided a rapid start for KKR. Gurbaz scored 23 runs before being dismissed by Natarajan, while Narine contributed 21 runs. Despite some dropped catches by SRH, KKR maintained their lead.
Venkatesh Iyer and KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer solidified their team's position with an excellent partnership. Venkatesh scored 51 off just 28 balls, and Shreyas remained unbeaten with 58 off 24 balls, leading KKR to victory with more than six overs to spare.
