KKR Secures Dominant Win Over SRH In IPL Final Clash
Pat Cummins acknowledged that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were outperformed in their Indian Premier League (IPL) final defeat by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). KKR secured a dominant eight-wicket victory in Chennai, mirroring their success in the first qualifier on Tuesday. SRH were bowled out for 113, marking the lowest run total ever recorded in an IPL final.
This was SRH's third appearance in an IPL final, and they missed the chance to claim their second title, having first won the trophy in 2016. KKR's bowlers, Mitchell Starc (2-14) and Andre Russell (3-19), played pivotal roles in stifling SRH's batting lineup, preventing them from gaining any momentum. KKR then chased down the target with relative ease.

Cummins, who top-scored for SRH with 24 runs off 19 balls, expressed his disappointment at the loss but commended his teammates for their efforts throughout the season. "I thought they bowled fantastically. We did not have enough on the board," said Cummins. "We were outplayed tonight. They gave nothing away, just like the last game in Ahmedabad."
He further added, "It was a tricky track to figure out. It didn't feel like a 200-plus wicket; 160 would have given us a chance. The style of our play, particularly with the bat, scoring 250 three times is a good feat. So, it was a great season."
Cummins also highlighted the positive aspects of working with his squad and staff. "I had not worked with many of the guys before, but it was great working with them. A great squad and the staff were amazing. I've had a great time," he concluded.
The celebrations have begun in Chennai as KKR fans rejoice their team's triumph.
