KKR Secures Third IPL Title With Commanding Victory Over SRH In 2024 Final
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title with a commanding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2024 Final on Sunday, May 26, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
KKR secured the win by eight wickets, with 57 balls to spare, ending a decade-long wait for another IPL title.

SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the decision backfired as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed within the first two overs. The team struggled to recover from this early setback.
Andre Russell took three wickets, while Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana claimed two each, leading to SRH being bowled out for just 113 runs. Pat Cummins was the top scorer for SRH with 24 runs, while Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen managed only 0 and 16 runs respectively.
In response, KKR chased down the target of 114 runs with ease. Despite losing Sunil Narine early, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer accelerated the innings. Venkatesh Iyer scored an unbeaten 52 off just 26 balls, while Gurbaz contributed 39 runs. KKR reached the target in just 10.3 overs.
