Kapil Dev States Government Will Decide On India's Trip To Pakistan For Champions Trophy
Kapil Dev, the former captain of India, expressed surprise when questioned about India's potential travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. The tournament is scheduled for 2025 in Pakistan. However, India has declared they won't visit Pakistan and prefers a hybrid model instead.
The situation has caused dissatisfaction among Pakistani officials, with discussions about possibly relocating the tournament for India's matches. Amidst these tensions, Kapil Dev was asked at an event if India should travel to Pakistan, and he seemed displeased by the question. He emphasized that such decisions rest solely with the government.

Kapil Dev stated, "It's very unfair for you to ask me that question because it's government's responsibility. If the government says it's okay, then everything is fine. And people like us should not give our opinion. Our opinion makes no matter when the country decides something. Kapil Dev can't be bigger than anybody else," during a Golf event.
In addition to cricket matters, Kapil Dev discussed India's prospects in their first Test against Australia. When asked about Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill's absence, he was unsure if Rohit was injured or unavailable for another reason.
Upon clarification regarding Shubman Gill's injury, Kapil Dev remarked, "We can't do anything about that, if they are unfit, they are unfit, you can't do anything." His response highlighted the challenges faced by teams due to player injuries.
When questioned about India's chances of winning the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Kapil Dev responded with modesty. "I am nobody, I am just a good spectator like you," he said, showing humility despite his legendary status.
Golf's Growing Popularity in India
Kapil Dev also shared his thoughts on golf's increasing popularity in India. He spoke positively about the sport's rise and expressed optimism about its future growth in the country.
The former captain remains a respected figure in Indian sports and continues to share insights on various topics beyond cricket. His views reflect both his experience and his belief in letting official bodies make crucial decisions.
