Jos Buttler's Stellar Performance Guides England To 7-Wicket Win Against West Indies In T20I Series
England's cricket team secured a 7-wicket win over the West Indies in the second T20I, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. The match took place on Sunday, November 10, at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Skipper Jos Buttler returned to form with an impressive performance.
Buttler, who had been sidelined due to injury, made a strong comeback by scoring 83 runs off 45 balls. His innings helped England chase down the target of 159 with ease, achieving victory with 31 balls remaining. This was after he faced a golden duck in his previous match.

In the first over, Buttler came to bat at number three after Phil Salt was dismissed for a golden duck. He then formed a crucial partnership with Will Jacks, adding 129 runs together. Jacks contributed 38 runs off 29 balls before both were dismissed in the 13th over.
Liam Livingstone played a quick cameo, scoring an unbeaten 23 runs from just 11 balls. Jacob Bethell supported him with three not out as England sealed their second consecutive win in the T20I series following their ODI series loss.
For West Indies, Romario Shepherd took two wickets while Akeal Hosein claimed one wicket by dismissing Salt at the start of England's innings. Despite these efforts, they couldn't prevent England from reaching their target comfortably.
"It is great to spend time in the middle. I was a bit scratchy for the first few balls but I managed to come through that period and really enjoyed it. It was great to be back out there," Buttler said at the post-match presentation.
West Indies' Batting Struggles
The hosts struggled early on after being put into bat. Openers Brandon King and Evin Lewis were dismissed for single-digit scores within three overs. Roston Chase also fell quickly, while Nicholas Pooran's struggle ended with just 14 runs off 23 balls.
Rovman Powell top-scored for West Indies with 43 runs off 41 balls. Contributions from Shepherd (22 off 12) and Matthew Forde (13* off 6) helped them reach a total of 158/8 as England's bowlers picked up wickets regularly.
England's Bowling Dominance
Saqib Mahmood stood out among England's bowlers with figures of 2 for 20 in three overs. Dan Mousley and Livingstone also took two wickets each, while Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid chipped in with one wicket apiece.
England now has an opportunity to secure their first white-ball series win in the Caribbean since 2019 when they play West Indies again on Thursday, November 14, in Saint Lucia. They aim to clinch the series with two matches still remaining.
