Jammu And Kashmir Surpasses Other States With 15 Players In IPL 2025 Auction Shortlist

The IPL mega auction is approaching, with 574 players set to participate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. This event promises to be a significant occasion for cricket enthusiasts worldwide.

Among the players listed, 366 are from India, including 48 who have previously represented the country and 318 who are yet to make their international debut. This diverse group showcases the depth of cricketing talent in India.

Jammu and Kashmir Leads with 15 IPL Players

Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) have seen a notable increase in players making it to the auction list. This year, 15 cricketers from J&K have been shortlisted for the IPL 2024 player auction. This number surpasses those from Bengal (13), Madhya Pradesh (14), and Saurashtra (6).

This growth highlights J&K's emerging status in Indian cricket, driven by performances from players like Umran Malik and Abdul Samad. These players have already gained recognition in previous IPL seasons.

Rasikh Salam is among the standout names from J&K. With prior IPL experience and impressive performances with the India A team, he is a strong contender for selection. His consistent bowling has caught the attention of franchises seeking to strengthen their squads.

All shortlisted players, except Umran Malik, have set their base price at Rs 30 lakh. Umran Malik has opted for a higher base price of Rs 75 lakh, reflecting his growing stature in the league.

In previous auctions, J&K had nine players shortlisted for IPL 2024 and ten for IPL 2022. The current increase marks another milestone for this region as it continues to establish itself in cricket.

Over time, eight players from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected by various franchises. Notable names include Umran Malik, Parvez Rasool, Rasikh Salam, and Abdul Samad, who have made significant contributions to their teams.

This year's auction will be closely watched as these talented individuals aim to secure spots in different franchises. Their inclusion reflects not only personal achievements but also the growing prominence of Jammu and Kashmir in Indian cricket.
