Australia Names Jake Fraser-McGurk As Warner's Successor For England, Scotland Series
Australia has revealed their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour of England and Scotland in September. Jake Fraser-McGurk, a promising young player, has been chosen to replace David Warner, who retired from international cricket after the T20 World Cup 2024.
Fraser-McGurk made his IPL debut with Delhi Capitals this year, impressing many with his performance. He also served as a travelling reserve for Australia during the T20 World Cup 2024 held in the USA and West Indies in June.

Cooper Connolly, an all-rounder from Western Australia, has received a surprise call-up to the T20I squad. Connolly, who plays alongside captain Mitchell Marsh at the state level, led Australia in the Under-19 World Cup 2024. His selection is based on two strong seasons as a middle-order finisher for Perth Scorchers.
Veteran players Matthew Wade and Ashton Agar have been left out as Australia aims to build a younger team for the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
Mitchell Marsh will captain both the ODI and T20I squads. Pat Cummins has been rested to manage his workload. Key players like Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell, and Steve Smith are included only in the ODI squad.
The ODI squad also features notable names such as Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Aaron Hardie, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Matthew Short, and Adam Zampa.
Upcoming Matches
Australia's tour will begin with three T20I matches against Scotland on September 4, 6, and 7. This will be followed by a three-match T20I series against England starting on September 11. The second match is scheduled for September 13 and the third for September 15. The tour will conclude with a five-match ODI series against England from September 19 to September 29.
