Sunrisers Hyderabad Signs Harshal Patel for Rs. 8 Crore

Patel began his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2012 and remained there until 2017. He then played for Delhi Daredevils until 2020. In 2021, he returned to RCB and had a standout season, equalling Dwayne Bravo's record of 32 wickets in a single season and earning the Purple Cap.

Renowned for his slower deliveries and variations, Patel excels in the death overs. In IPL 2021, he took five wickets against Mumbai Indians, becoming the first to achieve this feat against them. His success continued with Punjab Kings in IPL 2024.

Before the IPL 2025 auction, Punjab Kings released Harshal Patel. The 34-year-old pacer was listed in Set 4 under the all-rounder category alongside players like Ravichandran Ashwin and Glenn Maxwell. His base price was set at Rs. 2 crore.
