IPL Auction 2025: RCB Secures Liam Livingstone For Rs. 8.75 Crore To Boost Squad Depth
During the IPL 2025 mega auction, RCB secured their first acquisition by purchasing English all-rounder Liam Livingstone for Rs. 8.75 crore. Previously released by PBKS, Livingstone was part of the second set of marquee players with a base price of Rs. 2.00 crore.
RCB entered the auction with a substantial budget of Rs. 83 crore, having retained only Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal. This financial flexibility allowed them to target a significant all-rounder during the event in Jeddah.

Adding Livingstone to RCB's roster enhances their batting depth and addresses the need for quality all-rounders. Following his signing, RCB's remaining purse stands at Rs. 74.25 crore.
Liam Livingstone began his IPL journey in 2019 with Rajasthan Royals. Known for his powerful middle-order batting and useful bowling, he quickly gained recognition for his explosive T20 performances.
In 2022, PBKS acquired him for Rs. 11.50 crore, where he played a crucial role in their batting line-up by adapting to various positions as needed. His occasional bowling offered an extra option during middle overs.
Livingstone's consistent all-round abilities were vital in PBKS's playoff pursuits, even though they fell short. His IPL contributions have cemented his status as one of T20 cricket's most thrilling and impactful players.
By 2024, he remained a key player for PBKS, continuing to make significant contributions with both bat and ball throughout the tournament.
