IPL Auction 2025: Complete List Of Uncapped Players Sold At Mega Event In Jeddah

The IPL Auction 2025 kicked off at the Abadi Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24. Starting at 3:30 PM IST (1:00 PM local time), the event spanned two days, allowing franchises to fill 204 slots, with 70 reserved for overseas players.

The auction's first day witnessed historic purchases. Rishabh Pant became the priciest player ever, acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs. 27 crores. This surpassed Shreyas Iyer's previous record of Rs. 26.75 crores, recently set by PBKS. Venkatesh Iyer was another top buy, returning to KKR for Rs. 23.75 crores.

Over the two-day event, a total of 574 players were featured, including 330 uncapped players. On the first day alone, auctioneer Mallika Sagar called upon 84 cricketers, with 38 being uncapped. Among these uncapped players, 318 were Indian and 12 were from overseas, including four from associate countries.

Indian uncapped players formed a large part of the auction pool. They showcased their skills in domestic tournaments like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and IPL academies. Many young talents, including under-19 stars, sparked intense bidding wars among franchises.

The pool of overseas uncapped players was smaller, featuring only 12 individuals from associate nations and other cricket-playing countries. These players had shown promise in leagues such as The Hundred, BBL, and CPL.

Uncapped players had two base price categories: Rs. 30 lakhs and Rs. 50 lakhs. Most opted for the lower category starting at Rs. 30 lakh to attract teams seeking emerging talent affordably. Among them was Vaibhav Suryavanshi from India, who stood out as the youngest at just 13 years old.

Atharva Taide was the first uncapped player sold during the mega auction's opening day when SRH secured him for Rs. 30 lakh.
